Last weekend we wanted to spend some time somewhere fun and in the sun, therefore we headed to the Island of Krk, where the lamb festival called Crna ovca (Black sheep) was held from 12-14 May. Crna ovca is a fun festival of lamb, individualism, creativity, island heritage, popular culture and sport brought together many visitors from all over Croatia, as well as Slovenia, Germany, Austria, Italy, and other European countries.
We arrived to Baška Friday evening, and we immediately went to the festival for some lamb, beer, and good music as the popular Croatian band Jinx preformed that night. After the concert, we discovered a great pub just around a corner from the main promenade, called Pub Antica. There you can find a great selection of craft beers and a cozy fun atmosphere perfect for a great night.
We spent our day enjoying the beautiful weather, gazing the sea view, eating delicious lamb, walking around the beautiful streets of Baška, and watching the sailing regatta. There were many interesting workshops organized on the streets of Baška, as preparation of local specialties – from lamb chops to homemade pasta, and watching sheep shearing.
After the eventful day, we relaxed in the beautiful Hotel Zvonimir (Valamar Riviera) where we stayed for the weekend. The hotel is situated just at the beautiful seaside promenade, 5 min walk from the main stage and the festival.
In the evening we headed back to the festival, where we had some more lamb and some more beer. That evening was also filled with great music and amazing atmosphere. We enjoyed a great concert by the amazing TBF band and followed by Let 3 band.
All in all, Crna ovca was a great festival and we spent a great weekend filled with delicious food, good music and fun. I already look forward to the Crna ovca festival next year.
